Drill-free alternatives
- Freestanding bike rack: stable, but bulky and less aesthetically pleasing.
- Tension rod bike rack (wall-to-wall): presses between two walls. Works in narrow hallways, but has limited weight capacity.
- Industrial adhesive hooks: for very lightweight bikes only. Not recommended for road or gravel bikes.
The reality for a high-end bike
For a road or gravel bike weighing 8 to 12 kg, drill-free solutions are insufficient in terms of safety and stability. There is a real risk of the bike falling.
The solution for tenants
Drilling two 8mm holes in a wall is a minor intervention, easily filled in at the end of the lease with putty. The Compact Bike Setup only requires a few discreet fixing points. Most landlords accept it without a problem when the process is explained to them.

Always prioritize safety. A falling bike can break and cause injury. A few holes in a wall can be repaired. A cracked carbon frame, much less easily.
