Why we manufacture in Brittany: local commitment and French expertise

Manufacturing in France, and more specifically in Brittany, is a choice that is not always obvious in a sector where Asian production dominates. However, at David & Clément, it is a foundational decision, made from day one, and one that has never been questioned.

A matter of quality control

Producing locally means, above all, being able to control every step. When the workshop is just a few kilometers away, you can go and see, touch, and correct things. We are not at the mercy of specifications misinterpreted on the other side of the world. Details matter—the finish of a corner, the thickness of a tube, the perfect parallelism of a support. These elements can only be truly mastered close by.

A commitment to the region

Brittany is a region with a strong identity, a culture of craftsmanship, and a vibrant industrial fabric. Choosing to anchor ourselves there means contributing to the vitality of this ecosystem. Our manufacturing partners are Breton artisans and SMEs with whom we maintain long-term relationships. Not interchangeable suppliers—but partners.

A fundamental argument, not a marketing ploy

We could have produced more cheaply elsewhere. We chose not to. Not to display a "Made in France" label on packaging, but because it aligns with who we are. Our customers understand and value this. And honestly, it is also the reason why our supports last a lifetime—warranty included.
