Brushed stainless steel, our signature material: durability and premium aesthetics

When designing a wall mount intended to hold a bike against a wall — sometimes for years, sometimes for a lifetime — the choice of material is not secondary. It is central. At David & Clément, this choice came naturally: brushed stainless steel.

Why stainless steel?

Stainless steel is a steel-chromium alloy that resists corrosion, humidity, impacts, and the passage of time. Unlike painted steel or surface coatings, it does not flake, rust, or tarnish. Its inherent strength allows it to support significant loads with relatively thin tube sections — which contributes to the visual elegance of the product.

Why brushed?

The brushed finish is achieved through an abrasive surface treatment that gives the stainless steel a soft, matte, and sophisticated linear texture. It fits into a wide range of interiors — from industrial lofts to Haussmann-style apartments, as well as Scandinavian or contemporary homes. It resists fingerprints better than a mirror polish and ages well.

A material that speaks for itself

Choosing brushed stainless steel is also a strong aesthetic statement. It is the material of professional kitchens, quality watches, and architectural door handles. It evokes precision, durability, and a certain high-end minimalism. Exactly what we wanted for our mounts.
