Made in Brittany: the story behind our Made in France bike racks

The origin of the project: why David & Clément?

Behind every David & Clément bike rack, there's a story. The story of two enthusiasts who wanted to create a product worthy of their bikes: strong, elegant, durable. And made here, in France, in Brittany. In a market saturated with imported products, we made the opposite choice—that of quality, proximity, and transparency.

It all started with a simple observation: the bike racks available on the market were either too flimsy, too ugly, or both. We wanted something that would last and look good. Something we would be proud of.

The choice of Brittany as a production base

Brittany is a region with a strong industrial and artisanal tradition. It is also our territory, where we grew up and where we wanted to anchor our project. Working locally means reducing our carbon footprint, supporting the regional economy, and maintaining rigorous quality control at every stage of manufacturing.

Materials sourced and processed in France

We use professional-grade stainless steel, sourced from European suppliers selected for their consistent quality. Each piece is cut, bent, brushed, and assembled in Brittany. No subcontracting on the other side of the world.

Our artisanal manufacturing process

Each rack is manufactured in small batches, with particular attention paid to the finishes. The brushed finish is done by hand, which guarantees a consistent and premium look. Quality controls are carried out at each stage: flatness, resistance, finish.

What "made in France" concretely means for our customers

Buying a David & Clément rack means choosing a product whose origin you know. It means supporting local and responsible manufacturing. It also means benefiting from responsive after-sales service, provided directly by the creators of the product. And it means investing in an object designed to last, not to be replaced.

Our vision for the future

We continue to develop our range while remaining true to our values: quality, durability, aesthetics. New models are under development, always manufactured in Brittany, always in brushed stainless steel. Because we believe that a beautiful, well-made product does not need to be disposable.
