Behind every David & Clément bike rack, there's a story. The story of two enthusiasts, a workshop in Brittany, and a simple conviction: everyday objects deserve to be beautiful.
The project's origin
It all started with a practical problem: storing a bike in an apartment without it looking like a cluttered storage room. The solutions available on the market were either too bulky, too ugly, or made on the other side of the world with mediocre materials.
So, we decided to create our own.
The choice of brushed stainless steel
Brushed stainless steel is not an arbitrary choice. It's a material used in architecture, luxury furniture, and the medical industry. It is:
- Indestructible: resistant to corrosion, shocks, humidity
- Aesthetic: its satin texture catches light without being harsh
- Durable: a David & Clément bike rack is designed to last for decades
It's also a 100% recyclable material, consistent with our environmental values.
Manufacturing in Brittany
Our workshop is based in Brittany. Each piece is cut, bent, welded, and finalized on site by our craftsmen. No outsourcing abroad, no compromise on quality.
This choice is not just a matter of regional pride—it's an economic and ethical decision: supporting local expertise, reducing the carbon footprint of transport, ensuring quality control at every step.
A design built to last
Our models don't follow trends. They are designed to fit into any contemporary interior, ten years from now as much as today. Clean lines, controlled proportions, unembellished finishes.
This is what we call sustainable design: beautiful today, still beautiful tomorrow.
