How to photograph your bike for social media

Cycling, an ideal photo subject

A beautiful road or gravel bike is inherently photogenic. Its clean lines, noble materials, and colors make it an ideal subject for social media. But you still need to know how to showcase it.

Light, the key to everything

  • Natural light: prefer early morning or late afternoon for soft, warm light.
  • Indoors: position the bike near a window. A spotlight directed at the stand creates a studio effect.
  • Avoid direct flash, which flattens volumes and creates unsightly reflections on steel.

Staging with the wall mount

A bike hung on a brushed stainless steel Designer Bike Setup offers a naturally premium staging. The mount becomes an integral part of the composition, adding depth and context to the image.

Angles that work

  • Profile shot: highlights the frame geometry and components.
  • Slight low-angle shot: gives the bike presence.
  • Detail shot: close-up of the crankset, cassette, frame logo, or the mount itself.

The background

A neutral white or gray wall highlights the bike's colors. Exposed concrete or raw wood create a very trendy industrial atmosphere. Avoid cluttered backgrounds that distract attention.
