Installing a wall-mounted bike rack: preparation
Before installing your bike rack, gather the necessary equipment. To secure a wall-mounted bike rack, you will need a drill, a spirit level, and the screws provided with your bike rack. The quality of your bike rack installation depends primarily on proper preparation.
Step 1: choosing the location for the bike rack
The location is crucial for a wall-mounted bike rack. Your bike rack must be attached to a solid wall, ideally a load-bearing wall. Position your bike rack at a height that allows you to easily unhook the bike. Ensure there is enough space around your future bike rack.
Step 2: marking the mounting points
Place your bike rack against the wall and use a spirit level to ensure it is perfectly horizontal. Mark the screw points for your bike rack with a pencil. A poorly aligned bike rack will make your bike lean in an unsightly way.
Step 3: drilling and attaching the bike rack
Drill holes suitable for your wall type. Screw your bike rack in firmly. Check that the bike rack is rigid and does not move. A properly secured bike rack can support several dozen kilos without any issues.
Step 4: hanging the bike
Once your bike rack is attached, hang your bike. Our David & Clément bike rack is designed to make this operation simple and intuitive. Each bike rack comes with a detailed manual. If you have any doubts about installing your bike rack, our team is here to help.
