Not all wall-mounted bike racks are created equal. Before buying, a few essential criteria should be considered to make the right choice.
1. Wheel mount or frame mount?
- Wheel mount: attaches to the front or rear wheel. Ideal for saving vertical space, without contact with the frame. Perfect for road bikes and carbon frames.
- Frame mount: holds the bike by the top tube or handlebars. More versatile, suitable for mountain bikes and city bikes.
At David & Clément, we offer both systems in brushed stainless steel.
2. Load capacity
Always check the maximum load. Our mounts are designed for bikes up to 30 kg, which covers almost all bikes on the market, including lightweight e-bikes (electrically assisted bikes).
3. Material: stainless steel vs. lacquered steel
Brushed stainless steel is our reference material for three reasons: corrosion resistance, mechanical robustness, and premium aesthetics that transcend trends. Lacquered steel is cheaper but scratches and oxidizes faster—especially in cellars or garages.
4. Wall mounting
A good mount is useless without good fastening. Opt for systems supplied with anchors and screws suitable for your wall type (concrete, drywall, brick). Our kits include everything you need.
5. AestheticsThe wall-mounted bike rack is visible. Choose a model that integrates with your decor—brushed stainless steel complements Scandinavian, industrial, and contemporary interiors alike.
